I have always been ashamed of my eyebrows. How unruly they are. High school girl friends would always ask if they could pluck them, form them, mutilate them. I thought i was a freak, an unnatural, unfeminine woman. She’s pretty but if she plucked those she’d be beautiful. Amazing what humans will do to obtain beauty.

For me the most difficult task of being a woman is loving my body, regardless of it’s natural state. There is so much to critique and hate. The hairs, the pores, the unattractive curves. The one set standard of beauty corrupts the image of my beauty.

When I was just 13 years old going on 14 I used to suck on suckers “practicing” giving blowjobs (for reasons of my 18 year old boyfriend pressuring me into thinking about). I was trying to figure out what was seductive and sexy, to get myself comfortable with something foreign in my mouth in which I was supposed to enjoy. Whenever I would look at myself in the mirror practicing this, I felt stupid and childish and the ugliest and the least sexiest girl on the planet.Throughout my young teen years I always had boys telling me I had nice DSLs (dick sucking lips).
What a highly sexualized mindset this society has on young girls and women. Maybe society should start teaching men not to expect women to suck their dick like it’s a God-given right, and then maybe women and young girls won’t have to worry about whether they will be loved on their ability to please a man through his genitalia.
